Inspiration Bingo

Inspiration Bingo

As solopreneurs, it's extremely helpful to be able to communicate the essence of what we're about—our values and our style—in as few words as possible.

Unfortunately, the process of figuring out the right words to use can get heavy and confusing quickly. Especially when we're doing it alone.

Enter Inspiration Bingo.

What is it?

Inspiration Bingo is a playful way put language to your vibe by exploring people and things that draw you in and inspire you.

In my work as a website designer/writer, I found that asking clients point blank to describe their style or design preferences (let alone their “personal brand”) was not usually a good way to discover their style or design preferences.

I shouldn't be surprised—I've had the same struggle. Even experienced designers find it challenging to put into words what they see. And it's even more stressful to summarize the essence of our individuality.

Inspiration Bingo is a game designed to help solopreneurs articulate their vibe. It's a game you can play by yourself, with friends, or even with strangers. (Sign up here to play with its most seasoned player–me!)

Video Tutorial

Here's a video from my Inspired Website course that explains what Inspiration Bingo is about and how to put your card together.

Steps

1. Find your inspiration.

Find 3 websites, people and businesses you vibe with. These categories will give you a range of inspirations to play with.

Tip: To discover sites, check out siteinspire.comonepagelove.compersonalsit.es, and supercreative.design.

2. Create your card.

Upload screenshots, headshots, and logos to your Bingo Card on Canva (page 1). The process of creating your card is most of the fun!

Tip: See the video below for a tutorial on how to use Canva to fill in your card.

3a. Play (by yourself).

To play, look for patterns. What similarities do you see among the websites, people, or businesses you chose? What about across categories? Do any surprise you?

3b. Play with friends.

Sharing your card with others is a fun way to put language to your vibe with minimal stress. Talk through your inspirations and ask what patterns others see.

How did it go?
